I would have thought that the wings were enough, but many people still mistake him for a cat due to his ears and tail. Quick explanation: Reede and his sister were involved in an explosion while trying to liberate their race and free themselves from humankind, which is where he got his burns on his right side. (Left side of picture.) He and his sister was severely injured so he turned to using his powers as a means for revenge rather than for the good of his people.
