LV&PC 2380-2382 come from a mix of backgrounds, with the most recent of all being BLE/CN. Upon arrival the engines were downrated to 3,000 horsepower and given a short overhaul to add an SD40-2 cab and new rear hoods, which are identical to those of SD40Ts. However the rest of the engine remains an SD45T, hence the SD40TR rating, R meaning "Repurposed" instead of "Rebuilt." Air horns are Nathan K5LAs. 2380 was also named after the largest mountain in SoCal, Mt San Gorgonio.
