you read the title and probably saw the thumbnail, i'm going to share my opinions on this new studio update too. (disclaimer: this isn't made to start fights or be rude to the Scratch Team. These are just my opinions) I'll give you the run-down on what happened: -25 reply limit -Owners can only edit -'Add followers' button removed -Entirely new layout -Limited managers -Only Scratchers can make studios Alright, so I'm gonna talk about it, going in order of the list above. 25 reply limit: Okay, so I understand this one was to limit spam, but...you kinda just destroyed the entire point of roleplaying studios. I don't RP much, but I've been in a couple (kinda active) roleplay studios, aaaand all of it's just been destroyed. And I know lots of people on Scratch love to roleplay, so the entire point is kind of ruined. Yes, they can start a new thread, but then it kind of becomes disorganized. Owners can only edit: I have a SERIOUS problem with this, and I'm sure lots of other do, too. Sure, it's to prevent raids, but managers can still remove curators... so that doesn't really fix the raid problem. What if a studio owner goes inactive or moves to a different account? I'm in a couple of studios that have managers to collaborate in the descriptions, and we do a Quote of the Week, Question of the Week...you get the point. But now we can barely do that. Yes, you can make a new studio if the owner is inactive, but less people will see it. 'Add followers' button removed: Not much to say, except you can never spread the word for things (like if you are hosting a contest) without spending an hour trying to invite everyone username by username. Entirely new layout: I don't have a big problem with this, but I've heard that autistic people get sensory overloads from it. Limited managers: I'm sort of okay with this one... I mean, I get WAYYY too much spam studios saying "Let's see how many managers we can get" and stuff, and this update fixes it. Still, I'm not 100% okay with this. Only Scratchers can make studios: None of my alternate accounts are new scratchers, but I can see why people have a problem with this. It's because when they make an alternate account or move to a different account, they can't make any studios for 2 weeks. So yeah, that's basically my (constructive) criticism on this topic.
