ok so. I doubt this will ever reach them, but, before we start, I’d like to say that I mean this in no way to offend the Scratch Team. I know y’all are working hard but please take this as constructive criticism. <><><><> so. about the new studio update first of all I want to start off by saying that I’m not just upset about it because I’m a roleplayer here on scratch, even though that’s probably the reason I’m still on here. I’m upset first because there was barely any warning. I only found our aprox. a week before the update by someone saying something abt it in the MITTC studio, but many had no clue and were taken completely by surprise with this. While this is not a huge problem we as members of this community should be notified more efficiently of big updates. <> ➶ studio’s new look ➶ So the studio’s new look is honestly one of the biggest problems for me. I could probably get used to it after time, but I along with lots of others have had actual problems with the new look. Many have had sensory-overloads, and I myself experienced trouble breathing when i saw the new look simply because it feels extremely cramped and that kind of situation makes me uncomfortable and feel really scattered and unable to do anything. I also feel stuck because I can’t see any other comments when I go to reply to a comment from my messages and it feels like I’m looking at a project and makes me really confused. I hope maybe the look will be adjusted to help with this issue, but I’m not pushing the ST to do anything here. <> ➶ managers ability to edit ➶ I think that this is another HUGE issue, especially with rps like TFCRP, which I am apart of. Our founder, Cavie, hasn’t been active w/ TFCRP (or possibly Scratch, not 100% sure on that) for a long time now, so now none of the admins can edit the sign-ups studio along with many others. This is a problem for lots of other kinds of studios too - in the words of someone else (don’t remember who, srry) managers are now just ‘curators with staus.’ I’ve heard something is being done about this problem tho so I won’t rlly complain here ^^’ <> ➶ chain limit - 25 comments ➶ This one here is a huge problem for rps and the main reason why many rps are moving from studios. Most rp chains go longer than 25 comments, especially if they are written in long replies, so this chain limit doesn’t consider rpers at all. I know that this is to ‘keep convos up top’ as said in the recent discussion post, but what is the point of this? If people want their conversation to be seen at the top, they can just continue it up there. No reason to put a limit. Also, having to restart ur chain w/ someone even outside of roleplays is just simply a bother. All this does is make things harder for everyone. <> ➶ removal of invite followers tab ➶ This one is just super annoying. I know it is made to “make u work for it” but c’mon. We already have to work for it to tap each and every profile. It’s not like there’s an ‘invite all followers’ button. (And as far as I know, ST has said there sill never ne) This is just pretty annoying and now u have to know ppl by name. I know someone who had their followers a while back pick what kinds of studios they’d like to be invited to, and now that kind of thing is going to be much harder for them to do. This part of the update imo is the one I see the least reasoning for. <> ➶ new scratchers with no status ➶ I haven’t heard too much about this one and don’t have experience with it myself, but from what I’ve heard u can’t make that many studios and are limited on things. Please someone correct me if I am wrong here ^^ From what I know, though, this seems like a bad way to welcome NS to Scratch and along with the comment cooldown and excessive mutes is extremely annoying and could cause some ppl to leave before they reach Scratcher status. <> ➶ overall ➶ So yeah. Personally, I don’t support this update at all and genuinely didn’t like it, but I mean this in no offense to the Scratch Team. I just really wish y’all would ask us how we would feel if u did certain things, got our feedback, as I know nobody at the moment who actually likes this update. Asking us would save u a lot of work and time, instead of wasting it on an update that only causes problems for us Scratchers. I hope some things can be changed with this update, and that you’ll at least notify us better next time. I also support petition Ctrl Z and have signed that, I recommend any of u who see this and haven’t seen that to go check it out, it is made by the awesome @9rainbowtails I believe Thank u for ur time all, that is all
