Inspired by the 1958 film "Vertigo" which opened with this eye closeup with spirals emerging from the iris. If they had Scratch back in 1958, they could have done even better, but the music remains unmatched for creating the Vertigo mood.
Gradual change of turn angle and color of clones, using very little code. Music (a midi version) from 1958 film "Vertigo," which started with this eye and spirals. The designer of that title sequence used a pendulum and rotating table to make spirals (symbolizing the spiral staircase inducing dizziness, vertigo, in the protagonist). Some of the spirals in the film are actually called Lissajour Figures and look more like spirograph drawings than what I did here. But back in 1958 they couldn't animate them like we can now. Composer: the brilliant Bernard Hermann.
