Hi, this is LostNotFound. Today I logged in and entered Long Furby's Kingdom to chat like usual. However, I found the studio layout changed immensely. Personally, I like the new update. It brings a new, more 3.0-ish style to studios- the old studio layout hadn't changed since 2.0, and I can attest to that as a former Scratch 2.0 user. However, although I like the layout, there are some things that are just not helpful. 1. The new update won't let us add followers to the studio by choosing them from the bar at the bottom of the screen. Now, you have to add them manually. That's perfectly fine, but as someone with 1K+ followers (heh ;-;) it's a lot of time and effort to add names. And imagine users with 10K+ followers, such as @huntedskelly or @potatobear616? I don't know if they in particular invite people to studios, but you know what I mean. 2. Now, only studio owners can change the thumbnail, title, and description. Awesome! This will help end studio raiding. /pos However, it also causes problems, such as what if the owner leaves Scratch? Or if they're banned? Or deletes their account? It wouldn't be good, as now there's no way to edit the studio at all. 3. Only Scratchers can make studios. This one I actually don't really have any problems with, as all of my accounts are Scratchers except for two, and I'm not going to make studios with them anyway. For those of you who DO have a problem with this one, I would just wait until you get the invite needed to become a Scratcher. I know it's annoying to wait, but trust me, it'll be worth it! 4. Comments no longer show up in the studio's Activity tab. This is annoying. I don't know exactly why, but it just is. 5. There are over 74 million users on Scratch, and that number is growing every day! Awesome! /pos But please, Scratch Team, why don't you ask us what we would like to see? For example, you could make a forum post and put it in the Scratch News section, asking "What kinds of things would you like to see in a studio layout update?" Some things 6. Comment reply limits. Now, comment threads have a limit of 25. This is going to be a PAIN for roleplays or lyric chains or other studios- I know of a Objectronpa RP (an inanimate insanity / danganronpa roleplay) that's over 2,000 comments. /srs And now it, and other roleplays, are going to have to end early, or not work as well. I do not hate the Scratch Team. In fact, just the opposite. I respect them and I understand that they have a lot of responsibility. I also thank them for helping make Scratch the way it is. Thank you, Scratch Team, for all that you have done. /srs But I have a lot to say about this new update, and this project is my thoughts on it. Maybe there could be a toggle? Users could toggle the update on and off- if the toggle is on, the studios look like they do in the updated layout, and if it's off, the studios look like they did before.
