Here are the meanings of each of them and why I chose to put them in the background: 大 (Ō) "Big": He's big and powerful, I guess. 死 (Shi) "Death": He wants to kill the protagonist. 力 (Chikara) "Power": He's big and powerful, I guess (again). 目 (Me) "Eye": It literally shows his eyes.
