T0e Jam 4 Results are out! Beat up the dummy to see who won!! - WASD/Arrows to run - Click to swing sword - Double click to dash (while holding down keys) Credits: Art and coding by me. Took 6 hours :P Inspired by @asherthom's Mad Fight Font made by Daniel Linssen (m5x7) Sounds from Zapsplat.com (Jam info is below. It's over but I just though I'd keep this here in case we do a 5th T0e Jam). T0e Jam 4 is a game jam or game making contest. It is open to anyone who wants to join. @PokeNinjaGuy and I (@h0rnet15) will announce a theme on July 11, and you will have until July 18th to make/submit a game with that theme to the studio. Remix to enter! (Q&A below) Q: What specifically does the theme mean? Would ___ fit the theme? A: Interpret the theme however you see most fit! As long as you are inspired by the theme... whether it be a story-driven game about friendship or a platformer where you need the enemies to complete the level or anything else. Q: Someone else is doing my idea - what should I do? A: Go ahead and stick with your original plan. There's nothing wrong with two people coming up with the same idea - it happens every jam. Q: Any studio for entries? A: Of course! check out our studio for an archive of all the T0e Jam entries ever created! https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/27499747/ Q: Are there any requirements or anything I have to do to sign up? A: Nope! Just make a game based on the theme once the Jam starts. Just link it in the studio, or (preferably) make your entry a remix of this project. Q: Do I need to make my own music/art too? A: No. You can use art, music, and even code assets under the condition that you credit their original creators. Q: Does it need to be pixel art? A: Nope, work in any art style you like. I simply used pixel art for the announcement because I feel most comfortable working with that style. Q: Can we make teams A: Yes! Teams are 100% allowed. I'd say try to make your team of no bigger than 4 or 5. Q: Can I enter two projects? A: Sorry, no. Because there's just a week to make a game, it would be better if each contestant just spent more time polishing when they are finished. One great project is better than two rushed projects Q: Can I enter off of scratch via gamejolt/itch.io or through a forkphorus/turbowarp link? A: Nope. All projects must be entered through Scratch. Q: Do we have to finish before the 18th or by the end of the 18th? A: You have all day on the 18th. Because of time zones, we're pretty lenient with the deadline. Try your best to submit on time, but if you're just a little late, we'll probably let it slide. Q: What will we be judged on? A: We do not do a point scoring system for every game, but it will roughly be... 40% based on how fun it is. 35% will be how good it looks/sounds (polished graphics, effects, music, sound design) 20% on how creative it is. 5% on how much you made yourself instead of using assets for (i.e. music, sfx, art/animations, bits of code) Q: Will there be a prize? A: If you get top 5, your username and entry will be linked in this project. Additionally, lots of people (including PokeNinjaGuy and I) will play your game and perhaps follow if they like it. Ask me more questions in the comments if you have some! #games #pixelart #pixel #contest #gamejam
