Instructions

Harlow and I were wandering around the woods that day in fall. It was October, almost Wolf’s birthday. He and Naomi were inside with Calli and Shadow. Wolf had said something about making a Wolf Potion for the full moon - he’s a werewolf. So is Shadow. Anyway, me and my sister were in the trees outside our school when we heard footsteps coming from the direction opposite of school. Harlow jumped down. “Who’s there?” she called. I jumped down after her. Two teenage girls stepped out from behind a thick tree. “Who are you?” the smaller one asked. “I’m Brazen, and this is my twin sister, Harlow,” I said, gesturing at each of us in turn. “Who are you?” The smaller girl looked up at a bird tweeting loudly in a tree. “My name is Eddie, and this is my twin sister Sadie,” Eddie answered, pointing at her sister after she said it. Harlow nodded. “Nice to meet you. Where are you fr - why is your bracelet glowing green?” “We are elves,” Sadie said. “And we know magic.” I grinned. “Cool. Our dad’s an elf. We know magic, too.” I demonstrated by turning into a fox cub - the easiest animal for me to shape-shift into - and pounced on my sister. She smirked and called down shadows, shutting out all the light. Eddie smiled, and lightning came down from the clear sky and struck a tree, setting it on fire. Then Sadie turned to it and the tree next to it came alive holding a water bucket and poured it on the flaming tree, then went back to a regular tree. Harlow and I just stared in amazement. I knew that Naomi and Wolf might have been able to top that if they were here. Wolf had learned a lot of control over his werewolf side, and he could turn into a wolf at will now. And Naomi… Naomi scared me. She could take away or give you memories, as well as teleport you into hers - or someone else’s. Eddie took off her backpack she had on and gently pulled out a tiny turtle. “Meet Soco,” she declared, holding up the turtle. Harlow smiled and laughed. “You keep a turtle in your backpack?” I grinned and turned into an identical turtle, and climbed onto Harlow’s shoulder. She sighed. Soco jumped onto Eddie’s head, then started bouncing from Eddie’s head to Sadie’s then back to Eddie’s, so on and so on. “The backpack is full of blankets and Soco loves it in there,” Eddie explained. “Oh,” Harlow replied. I jumped off her shoulder, turning human as I landed. Soco jumped back into Eddie’s backpack as she put it on. “Do you want to go to a secret place Sadie and I found?” Eddie suggested as she gestured back behind her. I shrugged. “Sure,” Harlow and I said together. “Lead the way,” I said after, climbing into the trees behind Harlow. Eddie and Sadie led us to a very thick tree, then we went around it to a huge cave with a swimming pool. Eddie jumped into the water. Sadie stepped in. “Come on, get into the pool!” Sadie said, smiling as she went down below the water. “Since when is there a swimming pool in a cave?” I asked. Harlow sat on the edge, and I dived in as a dolphin. Eddie burst out laughing when she saw me. “We teleported it into here,” Sadie explained. Harlow nodded. I turned into a turtle, then a clownfish. “What in the world?” Eddie asked. I turned human again and laughed. “If you couldn’t tell, I can shape-shift.” “I’ve known that,” Eddie said as she turned into a jellyfish. I nodded approval and turned into a guppy. Harlow started up a conversation with Sadie. Eddie turned into a catfish. I turned into a manta ray. “So, where do you live?” Sadie asked Harlow. She gestured in the direction of our school. “Since school’s in session, we live there. Over the summer, we live in Maybell.” “Okay, we live in an entirely different world.” Harlow blinked. “You what?” I stuck my head out of the water and turned back into a human. “What world is it?” I asked. Wolf had been to a few different worlds, and brought us occasionally with him. Mainly Naomi went with him, though. Sadie turned to me. “Well, we live near Rojay Beach. The area is in a forest called Kaka Forest, though we usually hang out in the field next to the Kaka Forest.” I nodded. “Never heard of it.” Harlow laughed at my response. “Didn’t expect you to,” Sadie replied, laughing. I smirked, turned back into a sea turtle, and went underwater. Eddie must have heard all of that, because she was human, holding her breath, but also cracking up. I turned human again, and cast the water-breathing spell on myself and Eddie. Eddie smiled. “You wanna go to a different part of the cave?” I nodded. “Sure.” I followed Eddie out of the pool, up a tall vine, and to a hanging cliff with a perfect view of the school. “Nice, right?” Eddie asked, sitting down with her legs hanging off of the cliff.

Description

I whistled in amazement and sat down next to her, crossing my legs. Sadie appeared next to us, staring at the side of the cliff where a huge waterfall was. “Do you wanna ride down that waterfall?” she asked. “Sure,” Harlow agreed at the same time as me, coming up the vine behind us. Eddie went first, sitting at the edge of the waterfall and then slid straight down, her body becoming a blur. She landed in the lake next to it, looking up at us, though she was miles away. Sadie didn’t go on the waterfall, she just jumped off the cliff, landing with such a big splash that Harlow and I got splattered. We both laughed, Harlow dragging me behind her as she jumped down. Eddie was sitting on a lily pad, and Sadie was on the edge of the lake, her feet dangling into the water. Harlow and I landed in the water. /Splash/. All of us got soaked. Harlow and I cast water-breathing spells on all of us. Eddie jumped into the water and came up with a huge quartz rock. Sadie set the rock down on the shore and slid into the water, laying on the bottom. Harlow picked up the rock and examined it. I stuck my head underwater and floated just below the surface, thinking. Sadie swam up, sitting in a position where the sunlight was drying her off. Eddie smiled, then stood underneath the waterfall and got shot up back onto the cliff. She then jumped back down, and, gesturing for us to follow, swam through the waterfall. I swam after her, Harlow behind me. We followed Eddie through the waterfall. I glanced at my watch; it was 2:13pm. Eddie opened a chest filled to the brim with gold and gems. She then swam underneath the water and came back with 8 shiny and sparkly golden-yellow apples. She also had in her arms 3 vines of green grapes. Harlow gasped and went over to the chest. “Shadow could use this for her mom,” she told me quietly. I nodded. That could pay the medical bills, with tons left over. “You can keep the money, and these,” Eddie said, handing 4 golden apples and 2 grape vines to us, then pushing the chest to us. Sadie took a grape vine and 2 apples, and Eddie nibbled on one of her apples. Harlow smiled, and used the teleportation spell to teleport part of the gold to Shadow. I grabbed the apples and vines, and tossed one apple to Harlow. “Is there anything else in this cave?” I asked, snapping my fingers and summoning my backpack. I put the grapes and apples inside, keeping one apple out. I teleported the bag back to my room. “Nope,” Eddie said. “Follow me.” She went through the waterfall and Harlow and I followed. We zoomed up the waterfall, and Eddie went back to the pool area. “Where are we going?” Harlow asked. Eddie walked out of the pool area. “C’mon,” Sadie and Eddie said in unison. Then they jumped off the cliff into the water. I smirked, turned into a hawk and grabbed Harlow. She screamed playfully as I flew her - and myself - down the cliff. Eddie was a narwhal in the water, and Sadie was swimming in the water. /Splash/. We landed in the water. Harlow stuck her head above sea level, while I turned into a clownfish. Eddie turned into a dolphin and shot out of the water, landing with the biggest and loudest splash ever, soaking all of us. Sadie swam up to the surface, crawling onto a lily pad. Harlow went ashore, using the darkness to dry herself off. I turned into a flying fish and jumped out of the water, landing with a huge splash. Harlow had to dry herself off with darkness. Again. “Do you wanna show us anything?” Sadie asked, spitting out water as Eddie jumped out of the water and turned human. Harlow nodded excitedly. “Yeah. C'mon.” Sadie, Eddie, and I followed her through the trees over to a clearing. There were 5 treehouses in 5 different trees. There was a boy sitting outside one of them on a branch, a piece of paper in his hand. “Who is he?” Eddie asked, just quiet enough so that the boy couldn’t hear. “His name is Carlos. He’s our friend Naomi’s brother,” I said, waving to Carlos. “Okay,” She said, waving. Carlos grinned at us and climbed down. “Hey, guys. Who’re your friends?” he asked me and Harlow. “This is Sadie and Eddie,” I said, pointing at each of them in turn. He nodded. “Hi.” “Hi,” Sadie and Eddie said in unison. “Where are you from?” Carlos asked, shoving the paper in his pocket hastily. “A different world,” Eddie answered.
