Inspired by composer's Steve Reich's "piano phase" and "violin phase" (1967). The parts play gradually out of sync, then back in sync but with ever new patterns of harmony and rhythm. Each of 4 pianos plays the same phrase but a delay is gradually introduced into pianos 2, 3 and 4.
I used to perform Steve Reich's "violin phase" (1967), recording all four violin parts, adding more and more delay over time. This Scratch project is essentially the same thing, but Steve Reich's original was usually performed by four live players who had to learn to gradually go out of sync by delaying at each repeated section. The delays result in ever new patterns.
