Eventually, Ren was the only one left standing. The 3 of us had limited strength left, I could tell the same applied to Ren. He smiled evilly, and shot a pain curse. At me. Before I could blink, Wolf threw himself in front of the curse, stopping it. It hit his shoulder full force, and his body skidded to the ground. I screamed. Shadow lunged at Ren, disarming and knocking him out. I jumped down from the tree I’d been in, and knelt beside Wolf. I didn’t try to stop the tears. If he was dead… No. I wasn’t going to give up on him that easily. Shadow half-heartedly tried to comfort me, even though I knew she was trying desperately to hold in her tears as well. After waiting a long time, I sighed and stood up. “We can’t waste more time waiting,” I said, my voice hollow. Shadow nodded in agreement. “Y-yeah. We should probably bind Ren while we still can,” she suggested. We used strong vines that we found to bind him to a tree. We may or may not have taken turns slapping him across the face a few times. I checked Wolf’s pulse again, since we had nothing better to do. He still lay there, somewhat peacefully, unmoving. I couldn’t find his pulse, but I still wouldn’t let myself give up. Shadow took a couple seconds to pull herself together, then went to check on the twins. I braced myself for bad news when she reappeared, but the twins were fine and making good progress. I wished we could say the same. Half an hour had passed since Wolf had gotten hit, and I was starting to lose hope. We hadn’t moved him, in case that could disrupt any progress. Shadow had just told me that the twins were almost done when I heard a gasp. I whipped around, my hair flying behind me. Wolf’s eyes fluttered open. “Wolf!” Shadow and I cried in unison. I knelt next to him as he struggled to sit up. Shadow climbed into the tree above him, keeping watch. “Don’t sit up yet,” I advised. He took the advice and stopped trying. “W-what happened?” he asked. “You almost died to save Naomi is what happened,” Shadow told him from up above. “Worth it,” he decided, cracking a weak grin. I smiled back.
So, I am writing a story. It's called the Wolf Boy, and it's about a werewolf. This is a bonus chapter. This one is told from Naomi's point of view, while Wolf was unconscious from taking the blow. This isn't important to the storyline, so you can read it or you can decide not to.
