I awoke in a cage. I was too weak at the moment to do anything other than open my eyes. I glanced around, but didn’t see Ren or any guards. “Wolf!” Shadow hissed from the cage on my left. I struggled, but managed to sit up, and she had a silent blast spell ready to break the chains that I hadn’t noticed around my wrists. They fell to the floor, and I took a more thorough look around. Harlow was directly across from me, Naomi was directly across from Shadow. Brazen was to the left of his sister. He groaned and sat up. “What happened?” He asked, focusing on me. His eyes drifted to Harlow, and they widened. “Ren captured us,” I explained. Brazen nodded and turned into a fox cub. He slipped through the bars, and into Harlow’s cage. She gasped and opened her eyes. Naomi woke up a few seconds later, and sat up on high alert. No guards were in here or nearby, so Shadow and Brazen worked together to free us. Once we were out, we took a very thorough sweep of the surrounding area. Guards poured in a second later. We all fought them as hard as we could, but for every guard we took down, another replaced them. Eventually, Ren had slipped in. A guard threw a knife at my ankle when I wasn’t looking, and it struck home. The guard that was trying to subdue me hit me in the face with the flat of his blade, and I tumbled backward. The next thing I knew, I was underneath a tree, the guards focused on my friends. I threw a dagger that I summoned, and two guards fell. Eventually, the guards stopped coming. Ren had disappeared. The 5 of us sat in a circle, debating what to do next. Usually, me or Brazen led the group, occasionally Naomi might. But Harlow? She rarely ever led the group. But that was what she was doing at the moment. “Okay. We need an escape plan. Brazen, you and I could scout the area and find a way out. Wolf, you and Shadow and Naomi can defend from the guards if they come. Everyone good with that plan?” Harlow laid out. I nodded in agreement. Shadow agreed, and so did Naomi and Brazen. Harlow and her brother went into the outskirts of the clearing, disappearing from sight. Shadow, Naomi, and I stayed, waiting. Guards - including Ren - appeared 5 minutes later. I summoned Beorf and his pack, and they helped. We fought the guards and Ren with all we had to keep them away from the twins. Eventually, Ren was the only one left standing. The pack of wolves had disappeared. Me and my friends had only a little strength left. Ren smiled evilly, and shot a pain curse. I thought he would shoot at me, but it went to the last person I wanted - or expected. Naomi. Only one thought ran through my mind at that moment. I wasn’t going to let Ren be the one to kill Naomi - or any of my friends. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I let that happen. So I dove in front of the pain curse, knowing for sure that when it hit me, I would be the one dying.
So, I am writing a story. It's called the Wolf Boy, and it's about a werewolf. This is Chapter 21.
