Instructions

My alarm went off at 7:00 am the next morning. Classes today. Hooray. I got out of bed, put some clothes on, grabbed my backpack, filled with all my school supplies, and went outside, closing the door behind me. Harlow was yelling at Brazen to hurry up through their door, and Naomi was watching her with a bemused expression on her face. Naomi saw me. She walked over. “Morning, Wolf,” she said, smiling. “Hi,” I replied. “7:20! Brazen, get your butt out here! You’re gonna make us late!” Harlow was yelling through the door. “You do realize I’m right here, right?” Brazen asked her, standing next to their door. He must’ve gotten out of, I don’t know, the closet maybe?, then kept the door closed and sneaked out, making his sister think he was taking forever. “You little.. Let’s go, we don’t want to miss breakfast,” Harlow glared at her brother. We ate in the dining hall, each of us with cereal since it was already 7:30. Classes started in 30 minutes. After breakfast, we headed our separate ways; Naomi and Harlow to Literacy, Brazen and I to Creative Writing. Professor Raymond greeted us at the door, “Hello, boys. Come in, and finish your Remake Reality papers. We will share it with our partners.” Of course, my Remake Reality was about if I was never bitten. I think Brazen’s was about if Harlow was a boy, but I’d find out for certain when we shared. Once the whole class arrived, and we all sat down, we started sharing with our partners. Brazen’s was, in fact, about if he had a twin brother instead of a twin sister. Mine, you know what it was. When the next class bell rang at 8:30, we handed in our papers and left for our next class. I usually had pretty good papers, but when it was about my personal ailment, I never wanted them shared. I even wrote a note on the papers saying variations of “DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH THE CLASS.” Next class, Potions. The girls met up with us outside, and the Professor let us in. The four of us sat at our usual table, the middle row, and the furthest to the left. “Today we are making antidotes to poison,” Professor Brooks explained, “Open your books to page 103.” We worked on the antidotes for the rest of class, then tested them on frogs after. Mine and Naomi’s cured the frogs instantly, Harlow’s only took a couple of seconds, and Brazen’s took about a minute. These times were all passable, and could save someone’s life just in time. We were dismissed to our next class, Spell-casting. Professor Glinda greeted us, “Hello, class. Come in, and practice casting the Jelli Jinx on your partners.” In case you were wondering, the Jelli Jinx makes your legs feel like jelly for 5 minutes, when casted correctly. Here, my partner was Naomi. Brazen obviously had Harlow. I casted my jinx correctly first. Naomi fell over, and I performed the counter-jinx so we could continue. “Very good, Acwulf!” Professor Glinda commented from her desk as the rest of the class started pairing up and practicing. Next, Naomi cast it quite powerfully on me. I fell over onto my seat. Naomi smiled and un-jinxed me. Brazen grinned at me as I stood up. We casted the Jelli Jinx for the first half of the class, then Professor Glinda taught us a new one: The Pain Curse. We were not allowed to do this on partners, because the curse automatically went to the place of the victim where it could cause the most pain. Me, for example, my right shoulder. When cast correctly, it could make pain so intense that you could pass out. We practiced on dummies instead. They would blow up (without harming anyone) when the spell was cast correctly. Mine blew up on the 3rd try, Naomi’s on her 5th, Brazen’s on the 6th, and Harlow's on the 7th. “Very good!” Professor Glinda praised the class as she walked around the room. 9:30 am. Next class. We were dismissed to our next class on schedule, Enchanting. Today, Professor Ryan had us enchant books. I managed to do 7, which was a lot. These were the enchanted books I made: All-knowing, (basic), Flight, (basic-ish), Curses, (intermediate), Fire, (hard), Monster, (super hard), Alive, (intermediate-ish), and Explosions, (quite difficult). I was exhausted by the time we finished that class, at 10:00am. (Continued Below)

Description

(Story cont.) Next class, Math. We were studying the coordinate plane. You’ve probably learned this in school, so I’ll skip the summary of this lesson. 10:30am. Healing. We worked on a new healing spell; it could heal every physical injury to the person it was casted on. That was the upside. The downside was that it took a lot of energy from the caster. I wasn’t sure that I could manage it with our partners (Naomi and me, and Brazen and Harlow) after Professor Ryan had us enchant those books, but somehow, I managed. The non-caster had a pain curse cast on them, but it was the basic type. We had to heal them, and then we could go once we swapped. The four of us got dismissed, and at 11:15am, we had our lunch break. We got our food, grilled cheese sandwiches and chips, with lemonade as our drinks. “That was…” Brazen trailed off as he dug into his food. “Hectic? Busy?” Harlow offered through a mouthful of chips. He nodded. I scarfed down my sandwich, and saved the lemonade and chips for last. Naomi was already done as I was halfway through the bag. We finished, and had a 15 minute break. Classes didn’t start again until 12:30pm, and it was 12:15pm. It was not remotely close to relaxing, but it was nice to not have an adult hovering over you for 30-45 minutes. We finished up some homework, and then we went to our next class; Rocks and Minerals. This may sound like a boring class, but it’s actually quite important. We learned how to enchant rocks, use spells on, and identify rocks and minerals. This could save our lives one day. 1:00pm, Astronomy. We studied star charts and constellations, as well as predicting what days had a full moon. I knew all of those answers, because reasons. 1:30pm, break! We had a ton of work to do, so we took the 30 minute break period seriously. At 1:55pm, we had finished all our work, so we got a treat from the dining hall. Then, we had another 30 minutes of break. We relaxed, mostly, until 2:30pm. This was Survival Class, where you could learn everything you need to know to be able to survive outside in the wild for quite some time; from what plants/animals are edible, to what tool to use to chop wood. Finally, at 2:45pm, we were done with classes. We had dinner at 4, and went to bed at our usual time for school days, 8:00pm. Notes/Credits: So, I am writing a story.
