'like this' "Stay here chicks, i'll be back soon" Leaftail said as she left the nursery along with the other queens. As soon as all the queens had left the nursery all the chicks rushed to the branch outside of the nursery. "I don't see why we can't hear what greenstar has to say too." said a chick named Bluechick. "I know, it is so unfair" said another chick named Spiderchick. From where the chicks were perched they could only hear part of what the leader was saying. "I want to get a closer look" said a chick named Hawkchick. Hawkchick was very adventurous, maybe a bit too adventurous. Hawkchick tried to leap onto a branch several budgie lengths away. He couldn't make it! "No!" said Hawkchick's sister, Yellowchick. Hawkchick let out a screech of terror as he plummeted towards the ground Hawkchick's mother, Ferncoat immediately heard and spun around and dove after her chick. She reached him just before he hit the ground. "YOU ARE GROUNDED!!!!!!!" Ferncoat screeched the second she set Hawkchick on the branch. "But we're miles above the ground" said Hawkchick sarcastically. The second he said it he knew he said the wrong thing. ferncoat furiously grabbed hawkchick and threw him in the nursery. Hawkchick flapped his wings to selfright himself before he hit the ground. "DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!! Screeched Ferncoat "HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU TO STAY IN THE NURSERY!!!" "I just wanted to hear what greenstar was saying…" mumbled Hawkchick. "That doesn't matter!" Ferncoat snarled "if i tell you to do something, you do it!! You don't do the opposite!!" "Sorry…" mumbled Hawkchick. "It's ok" Ferncoat's tone softened "it's just that i worry about you. since your father died i can't have any more chicks, you and Yellowchick are all i have left of him" Ferncoat flew out of the nursery and back to the crowd of budgies by the highperch. Softchick could only make out part of what greenstar was saying "as i was saying...that your chicks...apprentices?" said Greenstar. "He's talking about us!" Softchick said excitedly to his sister. Leaftail and Mangobeak, came over to the nursery. Leaftail grabbed Softchick in one foot, and Featherchick in the other. Mangobeak grabbed Moonchick. "That's not too uncomfortable is it?" said Leaftail. "No, we're fine" said Softchick. It was actually quite uncomfortable, but he did not want Leaftail to waste time repositioning to make it comfortable for him. He wanted to become an apprentice as soon as possible. They flew over to the highperch and set the chicks down on the branch below the highperch where Greenstar was waiting. "These three chicks will become apprentices today. Featherchick, your warrior mentor will be Nightcloud" said Greenstar. "And your gatherer mentor will be Featherflight, Moonchick, your warrior mentor will be Longfeather" said Greenstar. "And your gathering mentor will be Sunnybeak, Softchick, your warrior mentor will be Sunclaw, And your gathering mentor will be…" 'please not Whiteclaw, please not Whiteclaw!' Softchick thought to himself. "Whiteclaw" Greenstar finished. 'oh you've got to be kidding me.'
this is my own version of warrior cats, I love exotic birds so I made a warriors thing but with birds (later on in the story I will involve my birds) press space if you want to see what each bird mentioned in the story actually looks like. it will say their name on top and their breed of budgie on the bottom this is not a graphic novel thing, budgies are too hard to draw realistically so it is just a story.
