MAP = Multiple Animator(/Artist) Project! This particular MAP is aimed towards those who are used to making MAP parts in Scratch (or posting them to Scratch in some way). So if you don't know how to make a MAP part, this isn't the MAP for you (but a like/favorite to spread it is appreciated anyway!) Anyway, if you're interested, read on.... -------------------------- Info about Parts / Acceptance -Deadline: Three (3) weeks from your official acceptance. To request a part, comment with the part you want, and three of your previous MAP parts. As long as they are definitely yours and really are MAP parts, I will allow you to join! -Assume you are accepted if you fulfill those requirements AND ask for an open part that isn't asked for by another qualified person before you. I will not count down your time until I actually see and respond to the comment, so this is a way to get more time for yourself if you want to start right away (as I may be offline for a while, especially next week) -Backups will be accepted when all the parts are taken (you still have to qualify under the normal rules though) -If you miss the deadline: If you don't make any communications with me about it, or don't send in WIP, I will drop you without notice and ask a backup (or if there are none, I'll start work on the part myself). I will tell you your deadline in my reply comment, so it's on you to be aware of it. Sorry but it's for efficiency's sake! -If you are working but need more time: please come talk to me and share what you have so far!! I don't bite. --------------------------- The technical requirement stuff: -To avoid lag, I'm going to edit the parts in a software and most likely post it as a YouTube video in a Scratch-safe way. So if you want to make yours into a video (a Scratch-safe link though, don't get us in trouble LOL) and give it to me that way, that's fine! Or if you want to do it on Scratch, also fine! -PMV or animated is good (for PMV please do more than one image though! These parts are pretty long). -Please do not include anything that would be inappropriate for Scratch! ------------------------ The artsy stuff: -I'm not that picky, but try to stick to the overall theme of the song! -Would prefer that you ultimately send in a finished part, but as long as the whole sequence is there and it looks presentable, I'll probably be fine with a WIP if you can't make the deadline. (you can update me on it later if you end up finishing it) -Would prefer parts be in color and have some background work (backgrounds are important!!), but again, if you don't have time, just focus on whatever you consider to be important to your goal/vision for the part! -Color preference is for washed-out summer / 80s-90s animation type colors. However, you can really go for whatever! ------------------------ You are encouraged (but not required) to... -Challenge yourself! And finished is better than perfect, so try something new just to say you did it! -Workshop with me! Send it to me for feedback while you are working - I may give you some extra time if I know you are actively working on it, anyways. (You do not have to follow the feedback to participate / have your finished part included though.) I'm a film major so "motion picture" is my specialty, and it's good practice for me as well! -If you're animating, try a (free) animation software and see if you can learn the ropes (let me know if you need help finding tutorials/ need advice, I've used a few already). It'll make it easier to take your work beyond Scratch in the future! -Try a (free) editing software to add effects or transitions to your part! (You may have to send it in as a video if you do this though. Let me know if you need help). As an example, the "heat waves" (aka heat shimmer/distortion or mirage effect) as mentioned in the song are something that can be created in certain software!
