It's that time of the year again. In contrast to last year's birthday animation, which was rather comedic and light-hearted due to the fact that it was told from the perspective of Season 3 Hektor, this special is rather bleak and I made the setting far less enthusiastic to fit Season 4's mood. Hektor's depression continues, and he can't seem to find any happiness in his life. To him, his birthday is just another reminder that he's one year closer to death, and apart from that, there isn't even a point in celebrating when he is barely motivated to get out of bed. After all the troubles and antics he has had to go through throughout the years, he is left truly burnt out and lacking a spark in life. He is then troubled by his past lingering in the back of his mind (aka, 2018 Hektor). Hektor grows rather upset by being reminded of this period of his life which he has tried so hard to forget. The reason that Hektor turns into his Season 2 self briefly at one point in the animation is used as a representation of his inner demons taking over his thoughts. He doesn't quite literally physically transform back into his Season 2 self, lol. I just used that design to represent his inner thoughts, and also because that was the most infamous era of my account. It's also @Rae-TV's birthday today, go wish him a good one. I redesigned Hektor's house so that it looks a bit more refined.
