"hello Leaftail, how are the chicks?" he said. "they are doing well, it is about time they were apprenticed" said Leaftail. "I could talk to Greenstar about it" said Stormtalon and turned to leave the nursery. "Did you hear that my chicks? You're going to become apprentices!" said Leaftail. Softchick had heard, and he was sooooooooo excited! He had been waiting forever to become an apprentice. "Really?" he said. "Ooohh I can't wait to become a warrior!" said Featherchick. "You're becoming an apprentice, not a warrior you dummy" said Moonchick. "I know but after that I become a warrior!" said Featherchick. "It's not like right when you become an apprentice you become a warrior" said Moonchick. "If you show enough skill you can!" said Featherchick cheerfully. "That's not how it works" mumbled Moonchick. "Oh cheer up moonchick" said Softchick "you'll become a warrior soon too!" "Yeah right" Moonchick mumbled even quieter. Softchick wondered why Moonchick was not as exited as Softchick and Featherchick. Perhaps it was because none of the other chicks would play with him because he looked different. The other chicks thought he was possessed or something. I don't see how they think that moonchick is possessed, but I do agree with them on their idea that Whiteclaw is possessed. Whiteclaw is an albino budgie, and her eyes are red! So creepy. "Or you could become a gatherer!" said Featherchick. A gatherer is a budgie that goes out with a swarm of other budgies to collect food and bring it back to camp. It is a rule that no bird can leave the camp without at least 9 other budgies with them. Because budgies are so small that one warrior from the conure or small parrot flocks could easily kill one or two budgies. "Pshhh! Yeah right, a gatherer is the last thing i want to be." said Moonchick. "Yeah, well-" Featherchick was interrupted by a familiar call from outside "All budgies old enough to fly, gather beneath the highperch for a flock meeting!"
this is my own version of warrior cats, I love exotic birds so I made a warriors thing but with birds (later on in the story I will involve my birds) press space if you want to see what each bird mentioned in the story actually looks like. it will say their name on top and their breed of budgie on the bottom this is not a graphic novel thing, budgies are too hard to draw realistically so it is just a story.
