Today marks five years on this account. That’s a long time. That’s like the same amount of time some people on this website have been alive hahah. Technically, I’ve been on scratch for over six years but I missed my real “scratchaversary” so I’m celebrating this one since five seems like a landmark. How many of you have been around my account long enough to know what this drawing is of/ a reference to? First one to guess correctly earns an imaginary cookie. I have included the most nostalgic songs in my time on scratch- all of which I am very sick of hahah. I will add more later when my iPad decides to cooperate. Okay, it’s time to ramble about my feelings: I first joined Scratch on the account @cuteclub67 as a young child, very very excited to learn to code and draw and make things. I had a big ego at the time and the tendency to be very self deprecative just to get attention. This account was originally a side account I made to trick one of my friends, but eventually I moved here because, well, why did I ever think “cuteclub67” was a good username? But, basically, I’ve been here for a long time. I was one of the beta testers for scratch 2.0. I still accidentally mix up the love and favorite buttons out of muscle memory because they uSed to be on opposite sides. My idols first starting out were @Silvershimmer43 , @Pickle-Productions , @Blazeheart and @Paperclips . I definitely watched Color Divide a million times, and was a huge fan of @Lionclaw’s Into the Toaster. Scratch actually played a pretty big role in my life. It was the way I stayed connected with friends after moving away, and the way I connected friends from different places. A group scratch account I created with a friend turned into an actual business (and not a scratch account haha) I’ve used it for many school projects, and made and strengthened many friendships through it. I’ve grown and changed a lot in my time here, and it’s super fun to look back. But I still have a lot of growing left to go.
