Instructions

This was to be the splash screen for a beta of planned sequel to my Windows 94 project (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/356585542/) that was never released. The prototype is here (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/537976169/), but it's almost nothing and probably will never be released. A lot of stuff I made ended up being used in my Windows 11 simulator (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/544851591/) Original instructions: Just a place to hold the Windows 94.1 splash screen until it's ready because I'll probably have a period of time soon where I can't access my desktop computer, which has the gif and PSD. This allows development to continue on my laptop. For beta versions: This splash screen is based off some actual beta splashes. However, if you're really wanting the regular splash (or alpha splash, with the Baltimore codename), just edit LOGO.SYS and select what you want in MS Paint.

Description

Shared in effort to share unshared projects due to inactivity 2/12/2025. Last Edited made 5/29/2021. Made from scratch in Adobe Photoshop (mostly. I added all red text and the moving Windows logo in Scratch). Inspired by some Windows 95 beta splashscreens. Used the below image for reference: https://betawiki.net/wiki/Windows_95_build_216#/media/File:Windows95-4.0.216-Boot.png I used Lucida Fax for the word "Microsoft" and Twentieth Century MT for the word "Windows 94.1". (I am pretty sure that font was the one used in betas with a splash screen like this). I rendered some clouds, made it a pattern, and applied it to the Windows 94.1 text. Then I used 3D extrusion effects.
