As a penguin, one of your number one goals is to not step on a big clump of ice (I think) Well, in this game it definitely is! Just jump over the crystals by pressing space at the right time. Oh yeah, and about the seal? Yeah, it's trying to get you, but it's not the best on land, you've got plenty of time.
