At dinner in the dining hall, I sat next to Naomi and Harlow. Brazen was at the detention table. He had been too slow getting back to dinner, and was caught trying to sneak into a teacher's office. Personally, I don’t know why he did that, but he did. Harlow caught her brother’s eye, and he smirked. They were chained to the seats at the detention atbel, and only their arms were free so they could eat. That was a stupid choice on the staff’s part, because when Brazen’s hands are free, he can escape almost anything. So, today he had a table knife in his hands and had succeeded in sawing himself free. He didn’t get up, but he looked a lot more comfortable than the other kids. I smiled and turned back to my dinner. Naomi and I had similar plates of food today; A sub, the daily sauteed veggies, and an apple. Our drinks were milk for her, and water for me. Harlow had a hotdog, soda, and chips. Naomi glanced at Brazen, free of his chains, and tried to suppress a smile, failing miserably. She turned back to her food. We finished, then watched Brazen get taken to detention. We headed to our dorms. I knew that Harlow would sneak out and take Brazen from night detention. I was staying in my room watching. So was Naomi. We’d cover Harlow if she got caught. Like always. “Night,” I said. Naomi nodded and slipped into her dorm. I watched Harlow smile at me, then slink off to the detention prison. I laughed silently and went to my dorm.
