Instructions

Welcome to Scrabble on Scratch! (Mobile Friendly) Choose from four CPU difficulties to play on and spell your way to victory! Full Screen is recommended. Game procedures and instructions: -Your tiles are the ones at the bottom of the screen, and you can either drag or type in words. -Each player starts with 7 tiles in their rack, and the first move must go through the central star tile. All plays after this must connect to existing words. You can also exchange tiles with the bag or pass your turn. Words can only be placed left-to-right or up-to-down (no reversed or diagonal plays). -The colored bonuses on the board are important as they multiply letter or word scores. You should try to take advantage of these bonuses as much as possible. -You have a chance of getting one or both blank tiles during the game. This allows you to choose any letter you need to complete a word. -When the bag runs out of tiles, the first player to get rid of the rest of their tiles ends the game. Any remaining tiles their opponent has will be added to this player's score. After this, whoever has the highest score wins.

Description

This project took over 2 months to create, so a love and favorite would be much appreciated! If you don't want to wait for the CPU to think, play on TurboWarp: https://turbowarp.org/531246040/fullscreen Otherwise, please be a little patient if you are playing on Scratch! Lag during the CPU's turn is normal, as it is calculating thousands of possible plays. Most devices should be able to complete CPU moves within 20 seconds (but usually faster). Note: Due to storage and compute time limitations, this version of the game only contains up to 8-letter words. Updates as of 30 May 2021: Changed to a per-game timer, rather than per-turn. Ensured timer and negative time penalties followed real time, even when temporarily leaving the page or pausing the project in TurboWarp. Added a few extra words that were deemed appropriate for Scratch. Made some small adjustments and fixes to the AI. This project uses the NWL2020 dictionary with all offensive words removed. Because the dictionary is so new, you may see modern words such as "OK," "EW," and "BITCOIN." I'd like to thank everyone who helped me test and fine-tune this project during its development. #scrabble #game #games #timed #ai #boardgames #puzzle #crossword #cloud #sounds #board #art #all #animations #cpu #strategy #tile #board-games #bingo #tiles #bonus #advanced #quality #elaborate #simulation #emulator #win #interface #ui #effects
