Their closest relative is the elephant! :O >>We have 11 official languages! >>Our capital city is Cape Town - I live there! ^-^ >>Long ago, South Africa was colonised by the British and the Dutch. >>South Africa is soooo beauuuutiful! I love living here. >>Our national flower is the protea, our national fish is the galjoen('g' sounds like the 'ch' in 'loch', and 'j' is like 'y' and 'oe' is 'oo'... it's an Afrikaans word. Afrikaans is one of our official languages, it's not spoken in any other country), our national bird is the blue crane. >>The first heart transplant was done in South Africa, by Christiaan Barnard! >>We hosted the soccer world cup in 2010! >>We're getting lots of load shedding at the moment because our power stations are messed up...
