Hello again peeps! This is my first bonus chapter of Wolves of Obsidian :0 I can't bear to let it go so I'm writing it now xD Also all the extra chapters are in the 'WoO - A New Age' category. Now, let's do this >=3 BONUS CHAPTER: EDITION 1 Rocksnarl shook out his shaggy grey fur with a snort of disgust as clods of dried mud flew from his pelt, baked in there by an afternoon of hot, summer sun. As he stood up, a tall, imposing male wolf stalked over to him, lip wrinkled scornfully. Oh Lupus save me! Rocksnarl thought reproachfully, lowering himself down in a respectful gesture. "Get up you grovelling moose!" snarled Talon, his father, snapping his jaws down on his scruff. Pain shot through Rocksnarl's neck and he whined feebly, wriggling and kicking out with his paws. "Father, what did I do this time?" Rocksnarl growled, making sure to advert his eyes and keep his voice low and unemotional as his muscly father let go and glared at him balefully. "Disrespect!" Talon barked sharply, cuffing Rocksnarl sprawling. Dust rose into Rocksnarl's snout, making him cough, accidentally inhaling the dirty air as his father stalked away. As Rocksnarl shoved himself into a sitting position, he watched his father strut off, tail high to where his mother, Velvetfur, lay, crooning, in a patch of sunlight. Bitterness welled up within him. That arrogant wolf! He thought, his claws unsheathing and digging into the ground, tearing up plants by their roots. "Father being insufferable?" asked a cheery voice next to him. Rocksnarl turned to see Brightpool. "Always." Rocksnarl replied, gently nuzzling her with his muzzle. Brightpool licked his jaw in return, her eyes warm and soft. At last, Rocksnarl stood up and took a few steps forward. Brightpool followed quietly. As Rocksnarl padded over a knobbly log which led over a river, he felt a painful twinge in his head. He only realised he had collapsed into a sitting position when Brightpool's tongue rasped his neck. "Rocky? What's the matter? Are you okay? Should I get Lynx?" "I'm - fine," Rocksnarl gasped out between gritted teeth as the pain in his head slowly intensified. He defiantly stood up, bunched his muscles and sprang. He landed shakily on the other side, and slipped on the mud, banging his pulsing head on the protruding part of the log. Stars exploded behind his eyes and he let out a muffled bay. His vision blurred and darkened dramatically. "Rocksnarl!" Brightpool yelped, her light, flowery shadow dancing in his vision. "Fine, fine I'm fine, fine!" Rocksnarl yipped, repeating the words desperately. And then it happened. Pain rippled along his pelt, and he felt the fur contracting in him, a strange, tingling feeling. Claws shoved out of the bone in his paws and his body grew and grew and grew... Rocksnarl howled in pain, struggling wildly to get up. He could feel disgusting foam frothing at his lips, and he drew out his large, hammy tongue to lick it away unconsciously. "Rocksnarl! Rocksnarl! What's happening to you? What have you done with Rocksnarl! WHO ARE YOU? ROCKSNARL?!" Brightpool screamed, jumping around him like an irritating fly. At last it was over. Rocksnarl lay there, his head buzzing with pain, not daring to open his eyes for fear the agony would start again. He was faintly aware of wolves gathering around him and Brightpool, no doubt drawn by the commotion. "What is this? Where's my son?" Talon barked, shoving his way through the gabble of anxious Packmates. When Rocksnarl opened his eyes, he saw his father standing above him. "It's a Shadow Warrior, Talon," gasped Velvetfur dramatically, throwing a paw to her forehead and yelping. "Shu' up," Talon growled. Rocksnarl's mother stiffened with indignation, but before she could snap back, Rocksnarl opened his dry jaws. "I'm your son," he rasped dryly. Talon stiffened, glaring at him. "Don't lie, dog! What have you done with my son?!" he howled. "I'm your son!" Rocksnarl said, more forcefully now. Talon looked at him uncertainly, recognition flickering in his eyes. "Hang on, that ain't no Shadow Warrior," rumbled Half Moon, an ancient elder wolf, ambling to the front. "And that is your son," he added gruffly. "I am!" Rocksnarl interjected, before a flash of pain made him close his eyes again. Talon turned on Half Moon in a flash. "Well, what is he then, if not a Shadow Warrior?" he demanded. All through this Brightpool was looking at Rocksnarl, looking torn and broken. Rocksnarl wished he could comfort her, but how could he when he couldn't even comfort himself? "That son of yours is a Broken Warrior!" Half Moon announced importantly. A small spark of recognition lit up Talon's eyes once again. "I heard about those," he said slowly. "They're those wolves that, when triggered, turn into their form, almost always proved fatal?" "Yes." Half Moon barked solemnly. Brightpool turned away, looking unbearably betrayed and angry

Description

Is that my secret? The one the spirits told me about? wondered Rocksnarl blearily, and then. Will Brightpool ever forgive me? Stay tuned for another edition of 'A New Age'!
