Information: So basically, wings have to be full and large, they can't be smaller than the body or have large gaps in them. Also, children would most likely not be able to fly, the wings grow with them. Winged people will probably have to hold their wings up and away from their bodies to avoid feathers dragging on the floor. And wings ARE A LIMB, they aren't just additions, they have nerves, muscles, bones, skin, and veins. If you were to stab a wing, it'll bleed and hurt the character/animal. Bird's bodies are tiny compared to their wings.
