- this chapter takes place IMMEDIANTLY after ch. 24 - Mellowkit and Wadekit belong to @Luckyy- Embersnake, Wolfshard, and Eagle'talon belong to @RingingBells Sunpaw and Birdflower belong to me --> Story <-- Eagle'talon blinked, as Graystripe, Bluefur, and Goldenflower left camp. Why didn't Redstar take his medicine cat? And why was the medicine cat in charge? Eagle'talon snorted. What was happening, anymore? It seemed like Redstar was corrupt these days. He only allowed some warriors to eat after Mellowkit and Wadekit, along with the elders, had finished eating. A weird smell came along. Eagle'talon sniffed. Wolfshard had complained to her about a weird scent a while ago, but nobody really listened, because Wolfshard was known for being a little cocky sometimes. But she realized her sister was right. She went up to Spottedleaf, to go and speak with her. "Spotted-" She started, but the medicine cat interrupted. "Do you smell something, Eagle'talon?" "Actually, that's what I was about to-" Graystripe yowled, and ran into camp. "Run!" He screeched. "Graystripe, what's happen-" Spottedleaf turned to face the gray warrior. But just then, Goldenflower limped into camp, carrying a limp cat. Eagle'talon stepped back in surprise. The cat's fur had been singed black, so dark that they were unrecognizable. But Goldenflower dropped the cat gently, and huffed, "There's a fire, we were running back- I tripped and Bluefur was able to grab me out-" Goldenflower nearly toppled over, and Eagle'talon saw her legs were singed like Bluefur's pelt. "It must have been right on top of you," Eagle'talon broke in. "That's why we're here- we have to get to the river." Spottedleaf froze. "What about Redstar and the others?" Graystripe shook his head. "The fire came from lower than that. We were hunting near Fourtrees, and we only saw it when we were coming back." Spottedleaf didn't move, and Graystripe nudged her. "They'd want us to get away, Spottedleaf. We need to move before the fire catches us." Spottedleaf nodded, and cleared her throat again: "ThunderClan, gather as much prey as you can, help the sick or wounded, along with the kits and the elders. Get to the river." --- Part 2 (of ch. 25) --- Stonefur ran as fast as he could, surrounded by his Clanmates. He felt heat on the tip of his tail, fire burning behind him. Above him, stars glistened and twinkled. How could StarClan do this? He ran faster. He saw Mudfur falling behind, and he ran over and pushed the medicine cat forward. "Don't give up," He shouted through the wind as the fire chased them. Suddenly he saw something in front of him, on the other side of the river. ThunderClan. He came to a halt as he dove into the river, followed by other splashes of the survivors of RiverClan. He saw Oakheart ordering cats around. Stonefur looked to the other wet cats around him but he couldn't see Crookedstar; the leader had dove into the fire to help get to the nursery and evacuate kits. The fire came out of nowhere. And when he turned, he saw ThunderClan cats diving into the shallow parts of the riverbank. He had outrun the fire. But he couldn't outrun his fear.
