Prologue- Happier- It started with her. Coral. She was in a cave, looking at a hole filed with water. A hand. It reached out and grabbed her, bringing her in. From that day, she was never the same. Never. Chapter 1- Echos- Coral was by the lake. It was a cold winter's evening. She was alone. The only people who had spoke to her weren't very friendly but one of them had came from the same world. The sea. Coral smiled to herself, wondering why she was so kind. After all, the world had only given her hate. As she looked at the glistening water, she heard footsteps. Her head darted around. "Hello?" She asked loudly, looking around frantically. The wind howled in her ears as some sort of reply. Coral sighed and looked back at the water. There was a red trail in the water. "What...?" Coral asked herself. She hated doing this but it was her only choice. She dived into the water, head-first. It was freezing. Suddenly, without explanation, her legs disappeared. They were replaced by an elegant tail. Her wings turned from an orange-red ombre to a teal-blue ombre. Now she just hoped no one would see her. Chapter 2- Deeper- Coral smiled to herself. She breathed in the water through her new pair of gills on her neck. She swam around without effort with her tail and webbed hands. Coral went up to the surface and immediatly spotted the red trail bobbing on the waves. She spotted a small jellyfish-like creature swimming along, leaving more of the red trail behind it. Coral swam under the water and followed it. Without even knowing, it leading her into a deep underwater cave. Chapter 3- Space- Coral continued swimming deeper. The creature turned a corner and when Coral turned the same corner, it wasn't there. Her enemy was. "Coral, darling! It's been so long!" The person said openly. "And yet you still have that evil glint in your eyes," Coral said sarcastically, "What do you want?" There was no reply. Just a depressing silence. The person was a siren. A sort of evil mermaid alter ego. She was smirking mischievously. This was concerning as Coral knew this person as always being very innovative when it comes to complex and dangerous ideas. "What are you planning?" Coral asked, cautiously looking around. "Nothing, my dear. What makes you say that?" The person replied. "I know you too well for that," Coral replied with a fierce bite to her tone. "But you weren't expecting this..." Chapter 4- Screams- Coral stared at her. Nothing had happened. "I'm not sure if you actually have anything planned," Coral said. She was wrong. Very wrong. Immediatly after she had finished speaking, a metallic, ear-splitting scream echoed throughout the cave. Naturally, hearing a scream as horrifying as that, they both screamed back. It was a sort of warning call for others nearby than a reply scream however. After the quick chaos had passed- in what had seemed like a matter of seconds- Coral tried swimming away from her enemy as fast as she could without even asking the question she wanted to ask desperately. 'What was that?'
