And yes your stuff is taken away also if you think your team can help sorry these prison cells are floating around the main hub you don't even try because the cells can only be accessed from the control room which only guards can access. Anyways you will first go to court and then set your sentence after that you will teleported to the front of the prison go inside and go to your cell.
