Hi. If you don't like deep and/or philosophical content, feel free to click off now. All art by me in figma. Also, with one hateful comment, I am closing comments. Please only supportive comments, I can't deal with others rn. ----TW: Mentions of racism/sexism/homophobia---- Hi everybody. I want to talk about racism, sexism, and homophobia. It's real. It happens in everyday life. It's part of the system. Please note that I don't pretend to know what it's like to have someone be racist/sexist to me, as I am a white male. Let's start with the phrase BLM 1. It doesn't mean "Black Lives are the only lives that matter." Thats why saying ALM is redundant. 2. It does mean that black people need to be recognized as equals. 3. It doesn't mean that other discriminated races don't matter. 4. It simply means that black people have been discriminated against for a long time. And it needs to stop. Next, I want to talk about sexism. 1. It can be anything from stereotyping personalities based on gender, patronizing someone based on their gender, or even denying someone basic needs based off gender. 2. In my personal opinion, most sexism is geared towards women. There are some cases where men experience sexism, but they are very rare. 3. On that note, it is never that men experience sexism from the system (the system, although sounding like something from a sci-fi movie, actually means the way the world is connected. For example, systematic racism is how the way governments and corporations are set up can be racist, but not individual people. ). In fact, the only time men experience sexism is through individual people. (If you have a complaint on this, and you have my cord, message me. I can't explain on scratch, as it has some sensitive topics. ) 4. Sexism is really bad. Next up: Homophobia. 1. I have experienced this, albeit second-hand (I am not LGBTQ+), as I live in a conservative state with a lot of subtly homophobic people. 2. LBGTQ+ people are people who don't conform to the traditional gender guidelines (i.e. Boy has a crush on boy, Girl has a crush on boy and girl, Boy was born a girl but is a boy, etc.). 3. Because they don't conform to these traditional guidelines, they get a lot of hate. 4. It's bad. And it happens only to LBGTQ+ people, unlike sexism, which although geared mostly against women, also targets men. ALL OF THESE DISGUSTING ACTS NEED TO STOP. RACISM, SEXISM, AND HOMOPHOBIA ARE ALL FACTORS THAT ARE KEEPING US AWAY FROM GREATNESS. IS THE HUMAN RACE BAD? JUDGING FROM THESE THINGS, YES. EVERYONE IS A PERSON. NO MATTER WHAT. ps. if you are one of the groups mentioned in this project, and i was insensitive, please let me know. Thanks!
