The truth about scratch. Stop. Just stop. Wanna f4f? go to a f4f studio. Feedback? Just advertising. Report a good project? (that follows guidelines)? Your jealous of their masterpiece. I think we ALL know by now that scratch is a mess, f4f, advertising, toxicity, stealing, mass reports, unneeded bans, feedback, generic stuff, and the broken trending bot. I know there are dozens of projects like this out there, and for good reason, but the sad thing is that we actually feel like we have to make these projects, I don't really know what to say here and don't really care. The community has gone from awesome, to fine, to eh, to bad, to toxic. But why? Why does this happen? Well, the answer is right here: Fame. In a single word, scratch's toxicity can be described. Why do you F4f? For followers. FOR FAME. Why do you want feedback? Views. Why are you toxic? Jealousy from good projects. Why do you steal? For fame. Fame. FAME. Why on earth do you want it? Haven't you seen the dozens of scratchers who quit just cause they get hundreds of f4f comments because of their fame? Does that click? Because I can tell you my oldest account is 4 years old (I don't remember the password) and oh boy...could you ever guess what it was like 4 years ago? Perfect. No f4f. No ads. No asking for feedback. Collabs worked. People were disgusted by copying. The resharing glitch was non-existent. Anytime before 3.0 I would kill to go back to. But WHAT happened, guys? When did scratch become a place for fame instead of anything along the lines of learning to code? OH. I THINK I HAVE AN IDEA OF HOW. The biggest mistake ST EVER made. They changed the "friend" button to the "follower" button. *breaths in deeply* why. why would you decide to do that. This change singlehandedly caused people to go hmmm... that reminds me of OTHER SOCIAL MEDIAS. LETS ASK EVERYONE TO F4F NOW CAUSE SCRATCH IS ABOUT FAME. You may as well take out the .edu part of scratch. Scratch isn't even about the coding anymore, it's about the fame. I think you get the point.
