Freckleface sighed as she tried to organized the herbs into neat little piles. She was too busy thinking of Stoneheart, her mate and the RiverPack deputy. Freckleface knew she wasn't allowed to love him- she was the EarthPack medicine dog, for SkyPack's sake! Everyone knew that medicine dogs weren't allowed to mate, and even if Freckleface wasn't a medicine dog it would still be against the code because they were from different clans. She growled, frustrated. She had gotten distracted thinking about Stoneheart again. Freckleface looked at the pile of herbs she had yet to sort, and tried to not think about Stoneheart, but as usual, she found herself daydreaming about his beautiful face, his slim body, and his voice. She sighed. As much as she loved Stoneheart, the relationship would never work, right? Freckleface pushed those thoughts out of her head. Nothing bad had happened. She couldn't break up with Stoneheart. She was his mate, and she loved him. "Hello Freckleface!" Hawkleap walked into to the medicine den, gently placing the leaf wrap full of herbs herbs he had gathered on the floor. "I see you haven't finished sorting the herbs I collected this morning." "Oh yeah." Freckleface mumbled. "I'm sorry. Sorting herbs is a lot of work." Hawkleap shrugged. "It's fine. You're young and still have a lot to learn." Freckleface sighed with relief, glad her former mentor hadn't discovered her secret yet. Freckleface poked her head outside of the medicine den. The sun was setting. "You should probably get to bed." She pointed out. "No, you should get to bed." Hawkleap replied. "You need rest." Freckleface wanted to protest, but that would likely reveal the secret. So she just nodded and walked over to her nest. Freckleface curled up in it as she watched Hawkleap sorting herbs. She turned around so Hawkleap couldn't she her eyes were open- if she closed them she'd be asleep in an instant. Despite all her her attempts to stay awake, Freckleface managed to drift into a light slumber. Freckleface, yawning, rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she awoke. Hawkleap was sound asleep in his nest, and all the herbs were neatly sorted in the crevasses of the den. Freckleface walked out at the den and looked at the moon. It was a thin crescent, high in the sky, shining dimly upon the land, along with the many warriors of Cloudstream. Frecklface would be late to her meeting with Stoneheart! Freckleface walked over to her secret exit out of camp and slid underneath the thorny bushes, her fluffy pelt protecting her from the sharp thorns that would have pierced a short haired dog's skin. Freckleface finally got out of the camp and began to race towards the meeting place. She slowed as she approached the river. Freckleface peeked out of the forest to see her mate sitting beside the river, waiting for her to arrive. Stoneheart must of missed her so much! "Stoneheart!" Freckleface yelled as she charged towards him. "I am so so sorry! I-" Stoneheart cut her off. "There's no need to explain. I knew yo wouldn't give up on me." Freckleface smiled. Freckleface loved being with her mate, but how hard would it really be to conceal this secret? It shouldn't be too hard, right? @SilverPUP788 for art and storyline
