For Scratch 3.0, There was originally going to be a character called "Maildog" give you letters when you click on the message icon! I have some screenshots of it! Press space to see the slides. 1 = The maildog saying you have 1 message 2 = The maildog saying you have 2 messages 3 = The scratcher message from the scratch team 4 = Maildog saying goodbye
