Kids shows are... something. Something that is targeted towards little children to give them their first steps into learning everything they can. Most of them don't really take this seriously and have lead to many issues with entertainment and education to not only them, but to everyone age-wise. But that's not what I wanna talk about right now. In fact, there is something else that spirals around my head that may be the cause of these shows being hated. When there's the bigger array of good and likable characters, there's always gotta be something, or someone, that wants to steal the show for themselves. They're the villains, or to put it in true summary, dislikable characters that are always failing to get what they want and have lead themselves to a wave of desperation all the time. One of the common scenarios are that they make a plan to do something sinister and the plan fails miserably either by bad luck or just straight up unexpected failure. ...but, does it really have to be this way? Do the bad guys REALLY deserve to be laughed at and treated like this? I mean, think about it. They probably had a backstory to begin with in the first place to get to what they are right now, and I am 95% certain that backstory of theirs was not pleasant at all. And I can't help but feel really bad for their lives still being trapped in a world in which defeat is seemingly inevitable for them. They're just trying to set themselves free from their imaginary jail cell of theirs, but no. Something out there just keeps them from doing it. And that's what I like to call unfair treatment. Here are some examples of some kids show villains who have kept being treated unfairly. - Crusher from Blaze and the Monster Machines This one is easily recognizable. For you see, he's just the poor old clumsy monster truck who always tries to cheat the racing system to give himself the win. His mischievous plans have never worked ever since. I feel really bad for this guy because he's always at a disadvantage against his "blazing" rival, but I guess that makes sense with his cheating tendency. But think about it. Maybe he's doing it to avenge himself what he had to go through in his likely brutal backstory. Maybe he's doing it because he wants to prove to the entire world of monster trucks that the raining champs can be beat. And once he does, he'll finally be able to be free from his... perfectionist's side for accomplishing something, and will never need to participate in a race again. Crusher just wants ONE DARN WIN, GOSH DARNIT. And if you're wondering, no, I'm not going to count that one episode in which he pairs with his rival to win that one team race. He won WITH Blaze. And now I want to see him win AGAINST Blaze. When will that happen? Well, not my fault I can't predict the exact time it happens. - The "Dastardly" Guy from Wacky Races This poor victim is just like Crusher, but his fate is WAY more devastating. This time, not only is it about his plans failing, but there are times in which he makes last minute mistakes that cost him the reward. You probably know that I have to sound my alarm when I have to mention about "last minute mistakes", because those are always breaking the heart of people. Back to Dastardly, one moment I know of him that REALLY ticked me off was when he stopped near the finish line to strike a pose for a photo finish. And to make things more excruciating, it was believed that he did this in the very first race of Wacky Races. If only he would've thought before doing, man. I strongly blame the writers for this missed opportunity of actually taking some first steps into making an actually good show. Now let's head on over to the good side of things and actually talk about a kids show villain in particular that is actually likeable for all of us. - Dr. Doof from Phineas and Ferb You all know this man from your childhood. Inventing many different "-inators" to try to take over the tri-state area while a secret agent platypus breaks in and... gets trapped right after before managing an escape to foil Doof's plans. The thing is though, Doof suddenly becomes more aware of what's certainly going to happen on each episode. And his statements about a lot of things in particular really sets the score here. He even pairs with the platypus on certain occasions to solve problems bigger than his. But while we all know Doof is an evil character, we love him because he doesn't take things too cringe-fully and really expresses the on goings of his life and what needed to be done beforehand. Now do you understand why it isn't really a good idea to laugh at the bad guys of the scene? Sure, they may not be able to escape from their bad memories and be blinded by them, but you know, you gotta give them some respect for what they possibly had to go though that made them... themselves. This is the exact reason why I'm more interested in drawing villain characters and OCs like Preston Penguin, created by @Fletchosh.
(continued) And why do I like bad guys? Well, to put it in my perspective, they kinda represent how we older viewers want to view what should happen in a kids show so that it feels more pleasant to everyone. I mean, the only thing that can make a kids show great is if it's targeted for viewers of all ages, whether they are an adult who loves to make art, or some teen who just wants to make a joke or two about anything. What the writers of the shows were thinking, it just doesn't fit right for our expectations. And I am here to try to put an end to this. #BadGuyJustice
