The art in this may be a bit "creepy" (although I don't consider it creepy, it might be a little for younger kids) so I wouldn't recommend viewing this project if you are under 7 years of age <3 ___ Key: . old version - press "o" . new version w/ art process - press "n" . sped-up video of art process of new version - press "v" ___ ✧ Thoughts on Old Version ✧ This was an oldie but *goldie* I was really proud of it at the time but not so much anymore. I mean, LOOK at the right side of her face, its all winky wonky ;0 oh my gosh i would be so angry if someone said this stuff to me at that time. (btw i had to edit the pic bc it had my old watermark on it but i dont use that anymore so-) but ohh god i hate this. i had actually tried to make this look creepy but gosh i just failed horribly ___ ✧ Art Process | step-by-step ✧ 1. sketch sooo this is my sketch. as you can see, i dont use toooo many guidelines and i mainly just draw whatever :"3 I usually end up changing lots of things in my main lineart. In my sketch, I tried to follow my original idea. So, I kept all of the main details like the axe, the bun, the book. I changed the pose a teensy bit, and I didn't want her to look sad or like too gloomy so i gave her a sort of happy face that says, "I'm happy just the way I am!" btw i am SO claiming this character bc i love her sm <3333 name suggestions appreciated! 2. lineart told you i would end up changing it. oh and i also add it a cute lil detail to my bby and i gave her a tiny butterfly tatoo on her shoulder <3 3. base colors so, i tried to give her the feel that i wanted to give in the original and i made her look pretty gloomy in terms of colors, i tried not to make her like "goth" and i kept the colors a teensy bit dull but a bit on the bright side. i think the axe's pattern turned out fine. For example, I made her dull, by making her skin pale, and her clothes pretty dull too. I also tried to give her hair a kind of cloudy look so i used one of the watercolor brushes (i dont remember which tho-) and I'm also pretty proud of the blending. oh and i also gave her a highlight just cause *mwah* 4. shading i just added SOME shading cause i got as lazy as heck soo ___ ✧ Art Process | video ✧ brr fast. i used ez gif to convert this and IbisPaintX recorded it. :D
