I saw the runaway words in the TV series. If there's a word that have letters saying their irregular sounds like cold, great, are, to, and world, that is considered a runaway word. They don't want to follow the rules, but still want to recognized as words. So feel free to use runaway words sprites in any Letter People Projects.
