Eridian uses they/them :) So, you may be wondering, what's with the gas mask? Well, Eridian kind of wants to be by themself, so they went to this place on Hyde that has a very exclusive ecosystem due to the production of toxic gases by organisms in the area. To be able to survive there, they basically live in the Hydean version of a Hazmat suit, but they have solitude, so that's cool? The horns are made of a much harder and durable tissue than the skin, so they're fine :) Also, Hyde biology time :D So, I talked about Oolong and Pu-erh Hydeans before, but as different species, but that wouldn't make sense, as if Pu-erh and Oolong individuals couldn't mate, it would be more efficient for both species to live separately. So, I changed that. So, now, Oolong and Pu-erh are different sexes of the same species. But there's a catch. Genders don't necessarily correspond to sexes. Drake, a male, and Xyla, a female, are both Pu-erhs, while Jekyll, a male, and Misha, a female, are both Oolongs. So, gender and sex in Hydean society are completely separate B) Due to this, binary transgender identities (for example, FtM and MtF in human society) don't really exist in Hydean society. Those who are viewed as 'transgender' are intersex (I don't have a cool tea name for that :pensive:, I shall deem intersex Hydean folks 'mixed brews', I guess) Hydeans who identify as male or female, or Oolongs and Pu-erhs that identify as non-binary. 'Mixed brews' who identify as non-binary aren't considered to be transgender. So, Eridian, an Oolong who is an androgyne, is transgender :) That was a nice trip through Hydean biology :) Project Type: REF Sheet Art: Me Art program used: FireAlpaca OC: Eridian, designed by @Doggywoofwoo, owned by me
