Story of how emeraldshine came to be: When snowstripe simultaneously didn't notice moondust's feelings for her. Moondust was of Dawn clan when snowstripe was out wandering during a strong blizzard she noticed two kits stranded on an iceberg in a stream. She saved the kits and noticed the scent was of dawnclan. She brought them home. Moondust had already had a mate, but of force from his father. Those kits were moondust's kits. Snowstripe couldn't travel through the storm but decided to help hunt with dawnclan for the night. Moondust's mate had green-cough and couldn't sleep with moondust that night. Snowstripe was sheltered in a tree, moondust made an excuse to sleep with her by saying, "The dens are infested with disease i will sleep in the tree." Moondust snuggled near snowstripe, snowstripe whipped her head at him as he tried acting normal. The snow had blocked the ravine the next morning, the leader was starting to regret keeping another clan cat in his clan but he followed through with her staying a few more nights. Snowstripe began acting like one of dawnclan. She was mostly helping moondust. but she hadn't noticed how much she loved him. Soon the snow melted and snowstripe could travel home, but her legs and paws were too numb. Moondust brought her home. But once they reached the river that seperated them, he paused. He brushed his fur against her to keep her warm and asked her if she wanted to be his mate. Snowstripe looked up confused. She was speechless. She got back up on her numb legs however and started off on her own wobbling. But as soon as she got on the last stone back to her clan, she turned back at moondust crying and waiting for her to leave. She raced back and sweetly touched noses as moondust blushed. She ran back to her clan, and said, "We can't be mates, but we can be friends." Moondust nodded and smiled. Days passed they met every day always playing together. One pawstep, tripped on a rock, and they fell into each others arms. They both blushed as their tails curled. Snowstripe suddenly heard a rustling in the bushes as silverfoot popped out. Silverfoot grabbed snowstripes scruff as moondust hopped back. "Snowstriepe go back to the clan" Silverfoot commanded. Silverfoot stared at moondust. "I would've let her stayed she loves you and was forced to be my mate, I honestly love someone else. You might have a chance she doesn't have any signs of kits." They both walked away. But that night snowstripe whined and cried. Moondust heard without a thought he raced towards leafclan. Moondust wasn't welcomed in leafclan but began helping snowstripe kitting. Moondust was a father, but the clan only thought emeraldkit was because of silverfoot.
