Description

Movie transcript: Lizzy is sitting in her bedroom, painting with calm music playing on the radio. Then, there is a knock at the door. Lizzy is startled for a moment, but then proceeds to turn off the music and go answer the door. Moby stands at the door, and waves. “Hi Moby! Nice to see you! Wanna come in?” Lizzy asks with pleasure. Moby beeps, and walks in. “I was painting a little bit. Wanna try?” Lizzy says. Moby beeps, indicating “No” “That's oka-” Lizzy stops, and notices the piece of paper in Moby’s hand. “What's that, Moby?” Lizzy questions while pointing at the paper. Moby beeps, and hands the paper to Lizzy. “A note? Cool!” Lizzy begins to read the note out loud. “Dear Lizzy and Moby, Who was Jackson Pollock? - Emma” “Great question Emma! First of all, Jackson Pollock was a famous oil painter. He was born on Jan. 28, 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. He died on August 11, 1956 in East Hampton, New York.” Moby beeps, and a question mark appears on his chest. Lizzy frowns, and says “Jackson Pollock died in a car crash. He drank alcohol occasionally, and one time he was driving under the influence of it, and crashed.” Moby beeps, and looked down in sadness. An oil tear sheds from his eye. “Yeah, I know, it is sad.” Lizzy says, still looking sad. “But, it's part of history, and there's nothing we can do. So, let's move on.” Lizzy adds. “Now, some of Jackson Pollock’s most famous oil paintings are Mural, Lavender Mist, and Convergence. My personal favorite is Lavender Mist.” Moby beeps. “Yeah, I guess Convergence is okay too, but I still prefer Lavender Mist.” Moby beeps “What’s that Moby? It’s time to go?” Lizzy asks, unhappy. “Well, if we have to, before we do, I want to show you something.” Lizzy holds up a painting full of red and black lines. “This is what I was painting before. Do you like it?” Lizzy asks Moby. Moby beeps, indicating “yes.” “Thanks Moby! And thanks to everyone who just learned a little about Jackson Pollock! See you next time on BrainPop! Bye!” Lizzy starts to wave, and Moby also waves. The End.
