Snowstar sighed. The she-cat's rusty brown head leaned over the pit. "Hello, Lightningstar." Snowstar said irritably. Lightningstar's yellow eyes gleamed with amusement as she talked. "You know, I really ought to leave you here. Make you pay for what you took. But unlike you, I have a heart and will regret doing mean things." She said smugly. "Listen, I'm not in a good mood. H-" Snowstar began but was interrupted. "You? In a bad mood? I'm shocked!" Lightningstar said sarcastically. "But do tell, why are you grumpy?" Lightningstar asked. "Half of my Clan just left. Lead by one of the newest warriors, Rockdapple. They call themselves 'RockClan'. It's so stupid." Snowstar explained. Lightningstar broke out in laughter. "Oh, how the tides have turned! Who's lost most of their Clan to a young rebellious warrior now?" Lightningstar teased her. "Listen, can you just help me out of the pit?" Snowstar asked. "I don't know, can I?" Lightningstar sneered. Snowstar groaned. "Will you just leave me alone then?" Snowstar asked, annoyed. "Fine." Lightningstar turned around. "Oh, and Rustyfoot's alive." Ligthningstar mentioned. "What?!" Snowstar exclaimed, but Lightningstar had already left. How was Rustyfoot alive? Was Sparrowlight okay too? Where were they? How did Lightningstar know? Was Lightningstar just trying to mess with Snowstar's head? The questions flowed through her head like a river as the sky faded to dark and the stars came out. "Looks like I'm spending the night here." Snowstar said. At least there were plenty of leaves to make a nest out of and stay warm. Snowstar made a nest, laid down, drifted off into sleep. In her dream, she was falling. She fell through a seemingly endless pit, a deep tunnel surrounded by dirt, much like the one she was stuck in, but much deeper. On the sides of the tunnel, there were small dens with scenes from her life, every little thing in each den frozen in time. She saw her mother getting clawed by the foxes, she saw herself meeting Rustyfoot, and she saw the thing that made her break off of StormClan and create SnowClan. Snowstar hit the ground with a thud right in front of the den. Surprisingly, she wasn't hurt. Inside the den was the day Lightningstar, Lightningfox at the time, getting chosen as deputy of StormClan. This den wasn't like the rest of them. It moved just as real life did that day. After the ceremony that day, Snowsong had gone to her favorite hunting place to escape the disappointment. Lightningfox had followed her there to rub it in that Snowsong hadn't been chosen as the new deputy and she had. "You'll never lead this Clan. You never had a chance with you always breaking down over every death. Cats will die. Get used to it." Lightningfox sneered as she circled Snowsong like a shark. "Stop it. Leave me alone." Snowsong said, staring at her paws, tears welling in her eyes. Lightningfox continued her insults. "You're too weak to lead a Clan. You barely passed your assessment. And you took three tries to do it. You're barely even a warrior." Lightningfox taunted. "Why won't you leave me alone, mouse-brain?!" Snowsong screeched, turning to face Lightningfox. "You won't be a good leader! You're too fox-hearted! All of StormClan will die under your leadership!" Snowsong yowled. Lightningfox glared at Snowsong with her aggressive yellow eyes. "Bad choice of words." Lightningfox said, unsheathing her claws. End of Part Twelve
