It was dark and cold, and surrounded by a dark mist that stank of blood and fear. He turned his head. "StarClan? Where are you?" The only thing he saw was a dead pigeon on the ground. Redstar sniffed it. It had been freshly killed. Suddenly, the ground grew hot. Burning his paws, he heard something screeching in the distance, something birdlike. The ground below him started turning orange and yellow, and even hotter than before. Redstar ran, but there was nothing to save his burning paws. Suddenly, he saw the ground behind him catching fire. He screeched in fear, and ran harder. The fire was gaining, closer and closer, until he was about to be swallowed by it and- . . . Redstar woke up, in a cold sweat. Was it a sign from StarClan? He heard footsteps, and he sat up as if nothing had bothered him. It was Spottedleaf. "I have had a prophecy." She said, in a ghostly voice. "I have had a dream, Spottedleaf." Redstar gasped. Spottedleaf tilted her head. "Speak of the dream." Redstar described the dead bird and the burning ground. "That is much like my prophecy," She murmured, closing her eyes. "What was your prophecy?" Redstar asked. Spottedleaf opened her mouth slowly and said, "You cannot run from fear- beware the slow burn." Redstar tilted his head. "I don't understand." Spottedleaf sighed, and Redstar smiled sadly. "But you do, I guess?" He asked. "It is not my job to tell you now, but even I must interpret it more." She swished her tail. Redstar nodded. "I must make new warriors when the sun rises." Spottedleaf nodded sadly. "Remember, Redstar, you can receive help from Bluefur. She is more experienced. And she will love to help." Redstar agreed, knowing the elder would die for her Clan, even when her mind was clouded. --> Part 2 (of ch. 10) <-- Longtail got up early to address his Apprentice. He had assessed Firepaw yesterday, and he knew that today would be the day Firepaw was announced a warrior. He walked over, the sun just rising, and woke up the orange apprentice. "Firepaw, wake up." Firepaw opened one green eye. "Yes, Longtail?" "I wanted to tell you that I am no longer in doubt." "In doubt of what?" Firepaw sat up. "I used to think- well, we all used to think- that you would never be a true Warrior." He continued. "Some cats still don't think you can. But, me, being your mentor, can understand how hard you have worked. Tigerclaw even said you are admirable. But don't give up now. Work harder, and you may even be a leader some day." Firepaw nodded. "I couldn't have wished for a better mentor, Longtail." --> Part 3 (of ch. 10) "Then from now on, you will be known as Ravenblink. StarClan honors your speed, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Emberpaw watched as Ravenblink sat next to the newly named Firetail, named after his mentor, Longtail. Emberpaw watched as the new warriors, Ravenblink, Firetail, and Graystripe sat in the middle of camp for their vigil. Emberpaw knew it would be a while before she was made a Warrior, but that wouldn't stop her from hoping. Behind her, she heard a cry. She turned to see Birdkit pinned beneath Eaglekit. Suddenly, Wolfkit barreled into Eaglekit, and all three kits started crashing around the nursery. Sunkit was nowhere to be seen. "GET EMBERPAW!" One of the kits squealed, and the kits all attacked her. Emberpaw shook them off. "You'll have to do better than that." Birdkit and Wolfkit tried to tug on Emberpaw's tail, and she flicked it on top of Eaglekit's head, and the kits all started wrestling again. She was about to go talk to Darkstripe when Runningwind broke into camp. "RiverClan is invading!" Next: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/507457186
