He had a burr stuck in his fur, and it had hurt to remove it, so he was always careful to take out burrs or thorns from his pelt. He heard a call, from the highrock. "ALL cats of ThunderClan, join beneath the highrock for a Clan meeting!" Bluestar's voice rang out, which was strange. Longtail had never heard her call for ALL the cats before. But, nevertheless, he walked over from the shady Warriors den to the hot clearing beneath the large rock. And he looked up, surrounded by clanmates and gasped. There. Was. A. Kittypet. RIGHT next to Bluestar! Bluestar started talking about how the kittypet's name was Rusty, and he was joining the clan. Longtail knew he had to interfere. "But he's just a useless kittypet!" He shouted, smirking. Rusty looked scared, and Whitestorm whispered something in the orange kittypet's ear. Longtail braced himself to leap, and Rusty unexpectedly leapt on HIM. Longtail and Rusty wrestled. He felt his teeth sink into Rusty's neck. Wait. No, not his neck. His... collar..? Longtail had an idea. He pinned Rusty, and started yanking on the collar. Choking him. Rusty squirmed desperately. The collar snapped, flipping Longtail backwards, and Longtail felt a pain from his ear, and a warm liquid running down his face from the wound. Longtail stepped back, gasping. Bluestar looked up. "The kittypet has lost his collar in a battle for his honor!" But Longtail didn't hear the rest. Spottedleaf walked over, calmly, and helped Longtail walk over to the medicine den. Longtail shot a last look at Rusty. He turned to Spottedleaf. "That kittypet will ruin our Clan."
