So this is an AU I was thinking about for a few weeks and decided to make a little thing on it. The song fits perfectly ~AU Backstory~ So basically, Before the Gathering where Houndpaw was supposed to be introduced, Cottonstar kept postponing the day, until after the rest of the gang got their warrior and medicine cat names, Houndpaw complained that he'd never be able to continue his life, so he was assessed. Naturally he did well since dogs are stronger than cats. He was given his name Houndfang, and Cricketpaw was given as his apprentice. The only catch was that they had to stay very close to the camp to avoid cats from other clans seeing them, this kind of made Cricketpaw's lessons really bad, but Cricket didn't mind because he was starting to have a crush on him (they are pretty close to age I think). Finally Houndfang was shown at the Gathering, Hornetstar, being the way she is, practically forced the other leaders into a petition to kick him out immediately. Cottonstar sadly kicked him out and striped his warrior name to just Fang. Of course, the crew didn't like this. Cricketpaw was mentored by Monarchwing, and even though they have access to all of WC territory, Monarch is not fit to be a mentor. Years pass, Cricketchirp receives his warrior name, he was good at hunting but not fighting. Dovestrike and Moonfall, now secret mates, and Monarchwing secretly go search for Fang. They find out that he is seeking shelter in the burnt down farm, now a shelter for dogs. Fang is too scared to go back to the clans, and the crew go back to their respective homes. Days later, the dogs and Fang, looking for food, follow their scent to WC, and the attack them. Fang had forgotten where WC was and when he found out, he immediately left. Cricketchirp had seen him leave, thinking he had sent the dogs to the clans for revenge. Him, not being the best fighter, was majorly wounded. The WC cats are currently staying in Thunderclan. Monarchwing never told him about their trip to find Fang, and now instead of a huge crush, Cricket has a steaming grudge for him.
