Fullscreen for best result :) … Portrait Study done entirely with bitmap in the scratch editor! Didn’t use color drop or any of that so it’s not 100% accurate and could be better in a few areas, but I worked with what I have and after hours of working on this, I’m drained of energy xD … Click, space or arrows to see some basic steps! … Used my iPad and Apple Pencil in the editor, though the same result could have been done with a mouse or a drawing tablet … Time - 4+ hours (if this wasn’t in bitmap a portrait like this would have taken no more than 2 hours ;;) … Ref used - https://pin.it/6zl4Efz … Working in bitmap is quite difficult, it’s basically just pixel art. Color accuracy was very difficult as usually I use transparent brushes to overlay some mild hues and I didn’t want to color pick, that would have made it easier. Also, I use liquify tool a lot in procreate, but here in bitmap I couldn’t really move anything. … Basic steps 1. A size 40 brush to block in the base colors and some shadows. Then I would block in some highlights 2. Added further color blocking and some more defining detail 3. Made my brush into size 1 and started with the tiny strokes to create a more blended/unified look. Kept doing that for 2 hours or so … And that was basically it ;; this was painful but rewarding!
