Day 18: The day was chilly. Cold wind blew on our face as we headed toward lunch. Most of the activities today thankfully had been inside, though today’s nature hike hadn’t been really fun. Finally, we headed back to cabin, notebooks and computers clutched hard so they wouldn’t fly out of our hands. After an eternity of walking, we opened the door and entered main cabin. We were winning a lot of wars now, but we were still last place! I realized I hadn’t turned in some of my stories to help with the word count, but staring out the window, I sighed and thought it was better to do it tomorrow. I began doing some more writing. The wind had stopped now, but it was still ice cold, and the lake even had a small layer of frost. No one had packed a snow jacket, so we were forced to stay inside. This time, I didn’t go looking for hosts and finally, Mango, Low, and I retreated to our room. While we brushed our teeth, Mango kept saying conspiracy theories, some of which I thought were impressive. But none seemed true. At least, for real life. “Hmm,” said Low, looking skeptical about these theories. “I don’t know. All I know is this camp is so weird that all of these could be true.” I nodded in agreement. Eventually, we all fell asleep.
