Okay, so a few of you have asked for this and here it is: Khoudu's art process! Feel free the try this yourselves :3 Step 1 - Bust - Sketch out a quick bust for whatever you're drawing, by this I mean a head, chin, neck, and the tops of the shoulders. Just a simple idea of what you're going for. Step 2 - Clean Sketch Base - Clean up some of the lines from your original bust sketch, add the rest of the body as well. The lines can still be a little messy, but tend to look smoother. Step [3] - Finished Sketch - Go through and add some details to your sketch, fix anything that might have been anatomically incorrect before. Don't be afraid to use references, even for a simple pose. Step 4 - Lineart - Now, it's time to go over the sketch layer with the lineart. I would recommend that you use a higher stabilizer so the lines come out smooth. Step 5 - Flat Colours - This is definitely one of the easiest and most calming steps for me. It's so satisfying to go through with the brush and colour my art. :3 Step 6 - Flat Shading - Apparently I do this a weird way so I guess I'll narrate it here. I take a copied layer of the colours, reduce the brightness to black, then change the hue to a darker colour than my current pallet. (Usually the eye colour or general aura of the drawing) I then go through and erase all areas that I want to keep the base colours and reduce the occupancy on the layer. Step 7 - Highlights - Just running through and adding extra shading and blushing. Pretty simple step, takes maybe less than five minutes. Step 8 - Background - Ignore the fact that I'm just totally vibin' to TLT musical, M'kay? The background is usually a really dark and desaturated version of the eye colour or shading colour. I usually add a small gradient where I want the lighting to go. Step 9 - Foreground - Start out with a completely black canvas layer, add a few bright lines where you want to be illuminated, and blend them together via the triangle blur. Erase anything on the layer that's overlapping the eyes, gems, or really anything you want to give the appearance of glowing. Step 10 - Effects 0o0 - Add in some light spots, some glows, extra shadows, lightning bugs, stars, etc. This is simply a point to do whatever the heck you want with your piece. Go crazy.
