This is for Scratch Writing Camp (SWF). The challenge is to fit as many cliches possible into 300 words. I fit in 16 cliches. They are: -Mean girls -Bad eggs -The person who can show you everything you need to know and is never wrong -“Quirky” girl -[adjective/title] [noun] superhero name -Jerky step parent and jerky step siblings -Killing off diversity -Friendly neighborhood vampire -Bad guys wear black -All the weapons -Woke up gay -Starting at action and backtracking -Obvious and common names -Twelve year old superhero -Who’s actually the good guy? -It was all a dream Sorry this story is so bare-bones! I wanted to fit lots of cliches in so I ended up just making a list, basically. You can find the story in notes and credits: :D NOTE: No hate to gay and Latinx people, of course. I'm Latino (and bi).
"Drop the weapons." The Blue Beanie (a.k.a. my friend Emma) says to Evilior the Destroyer. Evilior grunts and scoops fifty weapons out of his pockets, his pants, his shirt, and even some out of his hair. "All of them, guy." Evilior takes six more weapons out of a secret compartment in his jacket, including an axe. Emma raises her left eyebrow, and Evilior grunts and takes a single dagger out of his boot. "Good." Okay, okay, sorry for throwing you into that action all of a sudden. Let's review. I'll tell you everything you need to know, then I'll tell you my story. But it's not just my story. It's our story. Everyone on my street. First, we have Dave. He's gay. I had a heart-to-heart to him about being gay (I'm not gay, though. Of course not!) and I asked him why he was gay. He stared crying and told me why. "I... *sniffle* woke up and felt like that." Second, there's Cameron. Cameron's Latina. She's quirky, and doesn't get any guys. Expect for the third my-street-dweler, Jack. He's the neighborhood's friendly vampire. Fourth, Jill. She's a mean girl with a mean step dad. Fifth is Emma, the sixth grader who's currently bossing Evilior around. Sixth, Evilior the Destroyer. He's a bad guy and wears black. And lastly, Mr. O Wise-Man. He's Emma's mentor and is always right. But... what about me? Well, you see, I'm on a heap on the ground. I was betrayed by Emma. Guess what? Evilior's actually the good guy (even though his name), and Emma's the bad guy! Wow! I never saw that plot twist coming! She knocked me out and left me on the floor. I think we're still friends, though. By the way, Emma killed Dave and Cameron. Then I wake up.
