Estimates by me may differ from official reports - Cyclone Eloise is so far the deadliest storm of 2021. The storm started off in the South-West Indian Ocean and moved west as it slowly intensified. Eloise made landfall in Madagascar as a tropical storm as weakened a little bit before re-emerging over the sea. Finding itself in a very favorable environment, the storm rapidly intensified into a category 2 when it made landfall in Mozambique.
