Lilac // She/her // flower cat // 12 (in cat years) // 6 months (in human years) Lilac blinked, staring up at the midnight-blue sky. The moon was out, and she gazed at it, mesmerized. She snuggled deeper into her mother's warm fur, gazing sleepily at the moon. Suddenly, mother's ears perked up at the sound of soft footsteps in the grass. "Up, up!" she hissed at the kittens, "We have to go. Now!" They obeyed her, some leaping onto her back, others scuttling along beside her. They hurried deeper into the woods. At last, mother told them to crawl inside a hollow tree. "Mom," Lilac asked, "Aren't you coming too?" Mother ignored her question, and sat down in front of the hollow tree. Her tail flicked back and fourth, and her eyes darted around the darkness. BANG! Mother trembled for a moment, then fell to the ground. "Mom!" the kittens squealed, rushing out to lay on top of their mother. Lilac stayed in the trunk, watching nervously as her siblings gathered around their mother. "It's not safe yet," Lilac thought to herself, "The human is still out there." Sure enough, the hunter walked over to the kittens, picked them up, and stuffed them in a bag by his side. He walked away, ignoring the yowls coming from the bag. Lilac poked her nose out of the trunk, gazing around to see if the coast was clear. She whipped around at the snap of a twig, but couldn't find the source. A leaf crunched, a branched creaked, a squirrel chattered, a bird chirped. It was all too loud! Lilac put her paws over her ears, trying to block out the noise. However, it just got louder. All the noise was too much for Lilac's little ears. She threw her head up, and let out a yowl of terror. Suddenly, it was silent but for a soft rustling in a tree above. A raven swooped down and landed next to Lilac, who watched him warily. The raven hopped over to a little lilac flower, picked it, and set it in front of Lilac. She nudged it back to him, and he cawed indignantly and set it on her head. Lilac shook it off, glaring at the raven. The raven glared back. He hopped around, gathering more lilacs until there was a huge pile sitting in front of Lilac. "What's this for?" she asked. The raven cawed again, and started weaving the flowers together. Soon, he had made a long string of flowers. He wrapped it gently around Lilac's neck and tied it around the back. Lilac batted at the flowers, and the raven cawed indignantly, pecking at her paws. "Alright, alright!" Lilac hissed, "I'll leave it alone." The raven nodded approvingly, then suddenly launched himself into the air and flew away. "Wait! Come back!" Lilac yowled, but he was too far away to hear her. That's all I got for now. I don't want to write a 500 page novel yet, do I? XD #wta #wtae #cat #lilac #flower #purple
