[note: I’m just going to summarize it because I tried to type out the whole thing and scratch didn’t like it for some reason??? So yeah it’s just a short summary] [Note: this is in the same world that Teo and Aiken (some of my other characters) are in!] [ALSO: trigger warning! I tried not to make it too, like, edgy for scratch (for lack of a better description) but I’m still putting a warning anyway!] Akari was abandoned as a kitten and he was found by another cat who became his adoptive father. He thought his father was pretty nice. There were rooms in their house he wasn’t allowed in but he just shrugged it off. His father would send him on errands frequently which he usually enjoyed because it was a chance to get out of the house. One day his father gave him a special errand. He was handed a satchel and a note and told not to open it until he arrived at his destination. When he got there (after a full day’s journey) it was late at night and all he found were two cats (a red cat and a green cat) sleeping in a makeshift shelter. He read the note and was surprised and a little disgusted at the instructions. He was supposed to use the syringe in the satchel (which was filled with purple shadowy liquid) on the green cat. He wasn’t sure what it would do, but he didn’t know these cats, and he knew his adoptive father (at least he thought he did) so he decided he would do it. So he went up to the shelter and did that. He heard the green cat let out a squeak of surprise and he bolted back toward the shrub he was hiding in. For a few minutes, it seemed like nothing had changed. But then he saw the green cat stand up and pad to a corner of the shelter. The red cat stirred and mumbled something to the green cat. The green cat didn’t respond. The red cat started to look more concerned. It questioned the green cat again. Then the green cat turned toward the red cat. Akari saw the red cat’s expression turn to one of fear. Then the green cat hissed and leaped at the red cat and the red cat bolted away into the forested area nearby. The green cat pursued. This was when Akari knew he had made the wrong choice. He started panicking because he didn’t know what to do. Eventually he decided to follow them into the forest and hope that the red cat had survived, because he figured that since he had done this, he should try to fix his mistake and help. He eventually found the red cat hiding in a bush in the forest. The red cat introduced himself as Aiken. Akari told Aiken what he had done and Aiken looked revolted. Akari didn’t blame him; he was disgusted at himself too. But he offered to help and Aiken took him up on it. So the climbed up into a tree to discuss their plan: the plan for getting the green cat (who Akari now knew was named Teo) back, and for stopping his adoptive father from doing whatever he was trying to do... And that’s all I’ve got so far, but I’m going to keep working on this story because I’m really happy with it! Edit: so I made a slight change to this story. Actually, Akari doesn’t tell Aiken what he did to Teo until a lot later because dramatic effect (lol). Okay, now here’s an “about the art” thing for the art at the end!
