For Teachers who want to teach multiplication: I remixed the "What Can You Create" lesson to highlight how "repeats" are really tools of automated multiplication. The idea behind the project is that the teacher would ask the students to find the hidden challenges and code them in the "easiest way possible" using only the blocks at their disposal. Do not tell them it is a multiplication activity. As they work, wander and note how the students code the challenges. Then note different ways the students could do this (I've provided some examples in the code) and have a discussion with students on the idea that the "easiest way" can look different depending on what your goal is. After this activity the teacher could connect the ideas generated with the students to the steps in a multiplication mathematical algorithm...
